The Storm

The clouds rolled and thundered. The waves powerfully pounded the shore. I ventured out briefly to capture a moment.

Once home, I made a strong cup of Assam tea, always with milk. After writing, reading, then writing again, and making yet another cup of tea, I stared at the rain and my eye focused on the porch screen. It was not only what stood in mystery behind the rain-drenched, gossamer barrier but the tantalizing formation of the rain droplets on the screen that called to me. It presented another way of seeing.

By nightfall, the storm and its downpours of rain calmed to steady, soft rhythms that christened the Island. I was lulled to sleep by the soothing sound.
