I perceive in the confluence of energy and form nature's inner-landscapes and a patterned language. It is this vision and language that informs and inspires my work. In my subjects' oblique, yet powerful energies, I see the limbs of trees form cathedrals for prayer and ice formations that teach us about the laws of impermanence. I hear the first B minor chord of Bach's Mass when I gaze upon wheat frozen solid into white crystals. I see dance and witness tribal rituals. I sense God's breath and see the cascading tears of Earth's Goddess present in blades of grass and petals of flowers. All are a patterned language. Many of my photographic images are intentionally abstract and expressionistic: paintings-through-a-lens. I work with natural light and what nature provides in the moment. While my camera produces an instant sketch, my computer becomes a palette and canvas for my images to which I bring my personal rhythm and vision.
